Searching for beauty.. first approach to the project..

And the second draft..

And the final pieces..

My 30 second stop motion movie projects my opinion about my notions of beauty.
Beauty that draws attention to one’s self can do so in such a way that it makes the person into an object.
With this in mind, I wanted to highlight that beauty isnt based solely on our appearance, but rather the heart and mind.
A picture of a beautiful face which has been torn from a newspaper, crushed and thrown away depicting the short lifecycle of surface beauty and acts as a methaphor of how objects are generally treated.
Shouldn’t we question why human nature does treat people like this?
We’ve all heard the maxim, “You can’t judge a book by its cover.” and, yet, that’s exactly what many of tend to do. We tend to make instinctive purchases based on the outer packaging of a product, sometimes disregarding the actual product itself. I’m sure most of us have selected a wine, not by its vintage, but by the label. The reason is simple; most of us don’t have enough information to give a truly educated opinion about the contents of the bottle, so we look for other signs.

I used the golden section as an iconic background element suggesting a symbol of perfection, to emphasise the meaning of my message.
